Pizza Skulls

This time of year is full of delicious smells that warm our souls, colorful leaves around the city and crisp fall mornings! If you have kids, you have most likely been trying to keep them busy and involved in festivities!

I enjoy getting my boys involved in cooking and creating new things. I was trying to think about what we could do to add a fun twist for a fun meal that they would really enjoy. That may seem like an easy task, but I have really minimized my life over the past few years. I make it a point to only keep items that I can use for multiple things and the things that I really love. I do not care for clutter or extra dust collectors.

I found an awesome skull baking pan at Target for $9.99 a few years ago and it is one of my favorite baking pans! If you know personally, you would know that I love skulls all year long… not just during this time of year! SQUIRREL!

I decided to make mini pizzas, but as a skull! It was such a fun twist to a week night dinner or a fun family night! Personally, I matched these beauties with a family Halloween movie night!

Ingredients:

  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Pizza Sauce
  • 8 Count Giant Butter Biscuits
  • Pizza Seasonings (Optional)
  • Pepperoni (Optional)

Step 1: Preheat your oven according to the biscuit instructions.

Step 2: Using your hands, flatten the biscuits into flat disks. You will be able to see the natural seam and pull them apart. You will use both sides, one as the bottom and one on the top.

Step 3: Prepare your baking pan with a nonstick cooking spray. Line the pan with one side of the biscuit. Add the pizza sauce, cheese, spices and anything else you want to add. Just remember the more you stuff them with, the longer they will take to cook and if it is too full, it make not heat properly. This is similar to a mini calzone.

Step 4: Use the second half of the biscuit to cover the top. Use your fingers to pinch the crease around the sides.

Step 5: Bake for about 13 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and allow them to cool until a comfortable eating temperature.

These were super delish!
