As the weather begins to change and the air feels warmer… I start transitioning into spring mode! Out with the old, and in with the new! I am ready for cold drinks, caffeine and something that wont kill all the work I put in at the gym!
A few years ago after having my boys, my body started changing! It could have been a number of things… or that “After thirty” thing people are always talking about… metabolism change, body changes… and for me, I just wanted to maintain my health!
I remember researching so many low calorie recipes and “tips and tricks” … countless hours. It paid off and I have found so many great ideas and foundations to build upon. One of the things that has stuck with me the entire time was reading somewhere, “Don’t drink your daily allotted calories away!”. Think about it… one large sugary, delicious drink from the well know coffee chain could have more calories than a juicy burger and fries! So keep that I the back of your mind when making your caffeinated drink choices! Don’t drink all those calories away!
With that being said, I am always trying new things… finding out what my favorite drinks are and making them healthier and better in grand scheme of things! Another benefit to making your own drinks and treats is how cost effective it can be. Not only am I getting a better quality treat, but I get to save money doing it! I will be honest, my drinks are not upwards of six to eight dollars!
Last summer I fell in love with matcha green tea. I had never really had it before and it offered such a unique flavor… and it was so interesting and flavorful, that I wanted to see what I could make with it!
